About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make up for lost time and to ensure that when I'm old enough to know what I want to do but too old to do it, I have no regrets!

ABOUT ME

I'm happy and content and easy going.

PHILOSOPHY

Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about building yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Haven't been on CS for ages. Had a few people to stay previously, but a recent trip to India has prompted a renewed interest.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None to date.

Interests

Travel, cooking. Enjoy spending time with friends, meeting people I wouldn't normally meet, going to places I haven't been before. Like films, theatre, countryside..

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, from Beautiful South to Sinatra, Stone Roses to Vivaldi, The Killers to Damien Rice...pretty much anything. Books..I like biogs of famous people, not auto-biogs as they don't reveal the real person. Also read alot of world history and political history. Just read Lenin's biography after visiting Red Square. Movies, not into Sci-Fi and horror. Prefer films based on reality and films that make you think or take you to some place that you can escape for 2 hours. Favourite film is Brassed Off, English film about the miners strike of 1984. Like the Godfather trilogy, and most things with Gene Hackman or Ray Liotta

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I painted a picture of a line up of the Manchester United team that were killed in a plane crash in 1958. I then had limited edition prints made from the painting which I sell at auctions as a sideline business. One of my prints is now at the Manchester United museum and another is due to go on display in the UK National Football Museum in Preston in February 2008, to mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.

Teach, Learn, Share

OK, From the 'people I enjoy' entry, perhaps people can learn from me and my story, however humble or ordinary it may seem. On a more practical level, I love cooking and if you couch surf with me you will not be better fed. You want to cook but can't?...OK, not only will you come away fed and happy, but I'll teach you how to make indian food that would put a take-away out of busines.
