Music, Movies, and Books
Music: everything, from ACDC to Chopin! A preference at the moment: John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, Grand Corps Malade, Colbie Caillat
A selection of movies: Gran Torino, Big Fish, Good Will Hunting, American History X, Les poupées russes, Hotel Rwanda, Inglorious Basterds, Brokeback Moutains
Books: Astérix & Obélix and Buck Danny!!! Appart from comics, not a big novel reader, I will only cite one that truly shattered me: the City of Joy...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My trip in India for the wedding a couple of friend. It has been the greatest slap of my life. I fell in love with the people, the culture…
Improvisation (theater): I played during my 3 years in Lyon, met great people, had a lot of fun, and learned a lot about myself…
Discovered caving with friends a long time go. I am still amazed by the beauty of the underworld, and enjoy the sport/extreme conditions involved!
Teach, Learn, Share
Some food-wise MUST DO in Lyon:
- you HAVE TO visit "les halles de lyon - de Paul Bocuse" (inner market) which are reknown at least Francewide (some say the best of the country!). They are close from Part-Dieu, easy to find (trolly line C3)
- for restaurants, you really can find every quality (generally quite high i would say). Avoid "La Mercière" borough (close to place des Jacobins), most restaurants are over-touristic! Check out this website for best quality to price ratio in Lyon:
http://www.lyonresto.com/restaurant-lyon/Toque-blanche/restaurant-lyon-Toque-blanche.htm
Two of my personnal favorite are "l'ame soeur" and la Table du 101 (tram T1, stop palais de justice)
- for ice cream, if you like fruit, the MUST DO is: "terre adélice", in "vieux Lyon" (rue saint jean). You will eat there the best sorbets you can ever have! trust me! If you like ice creams, try rené Nardone, in the North of Vieux Lyon (A MUST!), or "les enfants gâtés" place sathonay (you won't be able to finish!)...
