About Me

ABOUT ME

-Currently Traveling South America from March-June, Starting in Patagonia in southern Chile then heading north through Santiago and Valparaiso, then to Bolivia & Peru. I'm up for meeting and travelling with others during this time!-

I'm David, Just finished uni in Glasgow, Scotland last summer, and now living & working in London. I love home but take every chance to escape, studying in Canada for a year and spending a summer in India

I love to spend time outdoors, the mountains of Scotland are my favourite place in the world. World politics really interest me, and I love to learn the views on common issues with people from different cultures.

International Development is one of my passions, having spent time in India & Africa working for a few different charities. I think the most important qualities in people are generosity and compassion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a few times in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Berlin and hosted a few times in Scotland. I've had a mixed bag of... interesting.. experiences so have a lot of advice for new couchsurfers. Or good stories to share for others.

Interests

I love sport like football and tennis, cycling, swimming, hiking. I know my way around a pool table. My favourite place is in the rural Highlands of Scotland, climbing mountains and adventuring.
I like a good party, a shitty pub quiz, a few quiet beers (or whiskies). I'm pretty engaged in politics here in the UK and will be fascinated to learn about your country.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music- Biffy Clyro, Frightened Rabbit, Kanye West, Bombay Bicycle Club, Kendrick Lamar, Alexander, Arctic monkeys, Belle & Sebastian.. I have a pretty strange mixed taste in music!

Also going through a bit of a book+movie vampire phase right now... so- Interview with the Vampire and I am Legend (books), Let the right one in, Only lovers left alive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in India for 3 months was the most intense and incredible experience of my life, hunting for waterfalls in the Himalayan mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love the idea of couchsurfing because it's more than just using someone as a hostel, you can stay with them for a day or more and learn so much about them and their countries, ripping stereotypes and misconceptions apart. I hopefully get a chance to take full advantage of it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Tanzania, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, India, United Kingdom
