Exploring the World, Finding New Direction
ABOUT ME
As with everyone here, I like to travel. I haven't had the opportunity in several years because I was either doing long-term volunteering (no money!) or in school so soon I will be making up for lost time by taking a trip around Europe for a couple months. I have a few friends in Europe but it would be nice to make more through couch surfing and have a more authentic (less touristy) experience.
PHILOSOPHY
This one's changing - I used to be pretty religious but not so much anymore. I still enjoy helping people and I want to have a positive impact on the world even as I explore all it has to offer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to couch surfing so I haven't participated yet. I heard about this site from friends who recommended it for my travels.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
No experiences through the website yet, but I've often hosted travelers who come to DC for different events. I always enjoy connecting with new people and making full use of the space I have by providing a place for someone to stay for a few nights.
Interests
I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, playing music, listening to music, running, all kinds of sports, trying new foods, going out for drinks, dancing, board games etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I mostly like drama and indie films - some favorites include: Motorcycle Diaries, The Mission, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, King of Masks, Midnight in Paris, As Good As it Gets, Little Miss Sunshine, Margin Call, etc. Recently enjoyed Zero Dark Thirty.
Music: Ryan Adams, Ray Lamontagne, Joe Purdy, Justin Jones, Adele, Amos Lee, Damien Rice, U2, etc. Those are some favorites but I love anything live - from classical to jazz to rock to world music and in between.
Books: Now that I'm not reading so much for school, I've been trying to catch up on some of the classics I didn't get earlier in life. Just finished A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens - good read and it's a great history refresher too!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was once in Beirut when Israel bombed the city - pretty scary!
Teach, Learn, Share
I work in the medical field so obviously I have some of that knowledge.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a genuine curiosity about people and the way they live in other parts of the world so I suppose I bring an eager listening ear!
Countries I’ve Visited
