About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Build my business / Meet cool people / Do some traveling
ABOUT ME
I've recently quit the rat race for good to work as a professional blogger/entrepreneur. No more bosses for me. I write about human beings, both being one and living among them. My dream is to make a living as I travel, doing what I love, and seem to be actually pulling this off so far. Would be pleased to meet you.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe human beings of all walks of life are generally the same. Generally good, generally sensitive, generally curious. I try to be a positive experience for people. I know that human beings are animals, and we're subject to overreaction, suspicion, fear and a lot of other troublesome traits. I think understanding our human nature is the best way to find happiness and equanimity. We can evolve consciously, and that fascinates me. My aim in life is to live in the present moment, and waste as little of my time as possible on resentment and negativity and worrying. I'm still human, though ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've done a bit of hosting (not all that many people visit Winnipeg and there are a lot of willing hosts) and some surfing in Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. What's so cool about CS is that it allows you to experience people in their home environments. I want to meet more than just other travelers while I'm traveling, and I love how CS offers many opportunities to do that.As a surfer I'm eager to help out any way I can, helping with house or yard work or anything else you could use a willing pair of hands for.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a few travelers and met many couchsurfers at meetings. I`ve surfed a few couches in New Zealand and it's led to some really incredible (and unexpected) people and experiences. What an awesome project.

Had a miraculous four days of sunshine on the normally-sopping Milford track in New Zealand. Sat on the mossy rocks in the torrent beneath Sutherland falls. Unforgettable.
Teach, Learn, Share
What do I know about? Music, the English language, blogging, surveying, math, assorted trivia... I do well at Jeopardy. What do I want to learn more about? Art, more than anything. I am stunned by what painters, writers, photographers and musicians are able to create, and I am always eager to spend time with art people. Also: other countries, other languages (particularly French and Spanish), history, fashion, health, nature, all kinds of other stuff.
