About Me

Hi, I'm Davide, an ecobiology student from southern Italy.
I took a gap year before my master to travel in SE-Asia and now I'm willing to give back to this community all the love I received during my trip.
I love spending time with creative people with a lot of interests, even if they are different from mine, I just like talking to people who exude passion for what they talk about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don’t just want to visit a city, or country, I want to live it, I want to meet the locals, befriend them, eat and laugh with them, but especially, exchange experiences and advices.

Interests

I love everything related to nature and environment, such as hiking or trekking, camping, animal and landscape photography, etc...
I started diving during my trip in Asia and I feel like I’m addicted to it now. Water is my element.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much everything and if there's any genre I've never heard I'm glad to get into it. If I really have to choose I'd say psychedelic rock, jazz and rap. At the moment I’m really into funky music. I also used to play drums.
During my trip in Asia I started to collect album from people. I ask people I met to suggest me one album, the first thing that comes to their mind, something they really love or feel represented by. I think it’s a nice way to get to know better each other and to get a permanent memory.
So if our paths cross, expect me to ask you this question.

I have way more books than the ones I've read. There's a japanese term for this, "tsundoku".
Books: Lord of the Rings, Un indovino mi disse
Comics: The Crow, Bone, Kraven's Last Hunt

Choosing a favorite movie is like choosing which of your sons you love the most. It's hard, but The Truman Show, Taxi Driver and 12 Angry Men have a special place in my heart, maybe The Lighthouse as well.
Then there's also the animated triad: Ice Age, Brother Bear and Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Caminho de Santiago Portugues.
- Hitchhiked from Hanoi to Singapore, through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Malaysia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach stuff related to nature and animals, but I also love to cook and I'll be glad to show you my mid cooking abilities with some italian dishes. For the same reason I'd love to learn more about local dishes and cuisine.
Exchanging language skills would be awesome as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with the cleanings or play/take care of pets.
But mostly, I can share with you my passion for nature and travel, or just long conversations on any topic, I really like to talk (I can be really quiet if needed).
