About Me

I am eccentric, quiet and polite. Respectful and tidy. Although I am somewhat of an introvert, I have good social skills. I open up more when I get to know someone. And if I click well with someone, that's when my quirky sense of humor comes out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It was recommended to me by a friend. It could be very helpful since I am on a tight budget. Sometimes there are days when I cannot find volunteer work in exchange for a place to stay. It's not economically feasible for me to even stay in hostels due to the length of my trip; so I have to be more resourceful. My being on here is also a means of connecting with people in other parts of the world. I love sharing travel adventures and discussing film and music. I get particularly amused when the conversations get philosophical. I have actually become good friends with a few people I've met on here. I look forward to meeting others.

I would like to mention that I am willing to meet people with interests that differ from my own. Those experiences can broaden one's perspective. However, please understand that I have begun to broaden my horizons late in life (I started travelling in 2013, in my mid-30's). If you're just looking for a guest to "impress" you, please decline my request tactfully. I had to mention that since I had (on more than one occasion) been insulted by pretentious hosts on this website that instantly declined my requests because they thought I (or my experiences) would not be interesting enough for them to host me.

I am a laid-back guy that likes to share what I've learned and experienced so far, and hear about other's experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are New Age and spirituality based (non-religious). With music, my tastes are rather eclectic. I especially love older music (mainly 80's Pop and New Wave; and Classic Rock from the 1960's through the 1990's). New Age and World Music are particularly pleasing as well. I can't stand rap, or anything similar to rap.

I am a movie fanatic! I have nearly a dozen boxes of DVD's and Blu-ray discs; genres ranging from silent films to contemporary independent films and documentaries. Modern Hollywood films (over the last 15 to 20 years) generally suck badly, so I'd know little of them.

I am writing my own book and screenplay... hopefully some people out there will enjoy the end result.
