About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To show people what uptown NYC has to offer!
ABOUT ME
I went backpacking through Europe when I graduated from High School and I have been in love with traveling ever since. After HS, I moved to Seattle to work in software. While I was there, my job allowed me to live in London for a few months and in Madrid and Barcelona for 6 months. I quit my corporate job over the summer in 2008 and went vegabonding/rock climbing in Turkey living off of a few dollars per day which really made me love traveling on the cheap.
After I came back, I moved to NYC to work in a genetics lab and go to grad school Columbia University. Ultimately, I want to work on a research project that will allow me to travel all over the world.
PHILOSOPHY
"Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."
- Michael Pollan
"Read myths. They teach you that you can turn inward, and you begin to get the message of the symbols. Read other peoople's myths, not those of your own religion, because you tend to interpret your own religion in terms of facts - but if you read the other ones, you begin to get the message."
-Joseph Campbell

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had an amazing experience couch surfing in Istanbul. Before that, my parents joined a travel club that is similar to this (but for older people) and we used it to travel in the south of Spain for 2 weeks.
