About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting people with stories to share.

ABOUT ME

Currently, I am working and devising a plan of action for how to approach grad school. I"m hoping to use this time to do some travelling when I can.I enjoy bikes a lot, and have been on a few bike trips which I would definitely recommend as a method of travel. I also play bike polo which I will probably try to get you to check out if you visit. I have a bunny that I adopted with my friend. Her name is Rhubarb Muffin-top (the bunny), and she is rather large for a rabbit. I also like to garden in my backyard.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a couch. Also I have food to offer, and would be happy to prepare vegetarian meals for those who surf with me or for those with whom I surf.

I also encourage everyone to try couchsurfing as it is not only an amazing way to travel but also provides both parties a way to truly connect with what was a stranger and learn to develop trust for another human being. In a time when there is so much misunderstanding and distrust for others, couchsurfing is just one way that we can begin to destroy the barriers that prevent us from addressing real issues that concern our entire planet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started using couchsurfing in the summer of 2009 during a cycling trip around europe and really enjoyed the trip and the experience of couchsurfing. Its a great method to meet wonderful people and to learn more about the places where they live.

Since then I have surfed with people in the US and hosted quite a few people (considering the fact that I live in Columbus where hosts are numerous and travelers are few).

Interests

Biking and bike related activities(polo), exploring, thrift-ing, reading, learning, music, movies, drinking(in moderation mostly), vegetarian cooking, conversing, philosophy, bunnies, discussing things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a large range of movies and books;I prefer books and am very fond of philosophy. My taste in books is constantly evolving often in unexpected ways, and I would love to discuss those with you. Mostly I like books that are engaging and refocus or shift my focus in life. As for music usually anything with the few exceptions, but I do love folk and electron a lot recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I attempted train hopping from Columbus OH to Portland OR, but I only made it to Minneapolis, MN. It was an awesome experience though. Also this past summer a friend and I completed a cycling trip that took us through England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and the Czech Republic. It was our first experience with couchsurfing and was truly great.
