About Me

Hello there, I'm David!
I am currently studying in Budapest at Semmelweis University, it is a medical school and I study pharmacy. Before that I attended a bilingual secondary school, I was taught English by native American teachers, and had American history and literature classes, I guess this is where I got fond of the American culture and people as through those years I got a little slice of the U.S. in my hometown.
It is definitely on my bucket-list to live and work there sometime in my life-looking at you California(oh yes, sunshine above all, not really a fan of winter and rainy days). I like travelling, mostly by car-long road trips are my personal favorites- and yes if you are thinking of Route 66 now you are on the right track as I am probably gonna do it sooner or later. I consider myself an open guy, even though I have my own views I am still eager to hear what others think and I am always up to a good chat/debate on basically any topic.

As for hobbies, I do airsoft, target shooting, golf, swimming, and I am interested in anything that needs precision and thoughtful thinking :)
I am also a morning jogger and long walker.
Not a big chef or cooker, but one thing I can do good: scrambled eggs.

Fun fact: Before I got into Medicine, I was about to become either a Pilot or an air-traffic controller, but I got glasses and what's worse I developed fear of heights for some reason so I got cut off from that path.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I approach the end of university, I start to have more interest and time getting back into American culture-the way I was deeply involved in secondary school, now since I finished it a couple years ago I miss those times, and I plan to travel to the U.S. more and more as my free time allows me to. Every now and then it could be refreshing to skip to the other side of ocean and kick back a little bit with the local people, I always like to meet new people and hear their stories, due to one of my hobby-I play 40k-, it is a team based strategy game which I pursue on an international competitive level I had the chance not so long ago to travel to Zagreb, and will travel to other cities for the same reason mentioned above soon-and for the accomodation I picked a random airbnb, and to my utmost surprise I got along with the host so good that we literally felt like we knew each other for years and had hour-long chats on various subjects, our opinions were different on some points, but still we had invaluable thought-exchanges. One reason might be that she was also involved in the fields of medicine, but hey... :) So long story short, meeting new people from across the ocean now has become a new hobby for me, or becoming one, hopefully.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wolf of Wall Street, Inception, Lord of the Rings for starters, but there are loads....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my very first golf tournament I managed to pull of an Eagle at 500 feet, I guess that might count as amazing since I was still kind of a beginner at that time. (Eagle= Finish a hole with 2 less strokes than Par. Par is a set number of strokes for professionals to finish.)

Teach, Learn, Share

How to drink Pálinka and make damn good scrambled eggs.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Countless hours of exchanging thoughts on all kinds of stuff regarding our world, really open to what other's have in mind about, oh and I am as far from cooking as it can get, but one thing is certain-I make damn good scrambled eggs, that's the only thing I can do, but I do that good. Also a handful: I am a big bag of cheer, I can literally laugh at anything, doesn't mean I don't know how to respect certain subjects, black humor, sarcasm all the way, I think a little sillyness and more laughter, being a little more easy-going is what this world needs.
