About Me

Hi! I'm david, from Paris, I'm a student in anthropology and I've just finished my master. After reading so much about other cultures, I decided to travel to meet them!

That's why i decided to travel with my friend Suzanne, who studies political sciences and took a gap year to live this adventure. She's from Barcelona and also lived in France. We both lived in Argentina too, where we met each other.

ABOUT OUR TRIP :

Our idea is to travel during one year, meeting new people and new cultures. We like discovering local life and hidden little bars and cafes! That's why even if we have a itinerary we will surely won't follow it! We like to take our time, so we can build sincere relationships and friendships.

We starded our trip sailing in a little boat from France to Sicilia, it was a great experience. Now we plan to discover Sicilia, then spend some time in Greece and then in Turkey. After that we will go on to central Asia, Iran and India and Sri Lanka!

Our philosophy : The world is too big to stay in one only place! We already travel a lot in Europe and in South America. Travelling and meeting new people is the best way to open one's wind. We love to have great discussions with different people and exchange points of view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We already did old school homemade couchsurfing in our previous trips !
We received a lot of people in our houses and we also have slept in a lot of couches in Brasil, Portugal, Netherlands, argentina, uruguay or germany!

We finally decided to join the 2.0 CS community for this trip!

CS philosophy matches very well with our conception of travelling. Travellers are mainly different than tourists, and CS is a great way of meeting local people and having an interesting chat.

Interests

We both love travelling and meeting new people! We love the animation of crowdy big cities, but we also like to escape in the countryside and watch the plants grow up!

We love reading and going to the cinema. We both study human science but we also love art and literature.

I play the percussions and the bass, and i would love to learn new rythms during this trip. I practice capoera angola which I discovered in Argentina.

Suzanne likes playing guitar, reading Roberto Bolaño and Julio Cortazar or seeing movies of Wim Wenders.

Music, Movies, and Books

From Coltrane to Many Chao, from Bombs Estero to The Doors or Wu Tang Clan.... Anyway, a lot of music!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We met in South America, where we lived during one year. We travelled to Bolivia, Peru, Brasil, Argentina! David hitchhiked from Buenos Aires to the south of Patagonia. We sailed from France to Sicilia!

Teach, Learn, Share

'' Teach, learn, share'' could be our motow! :-)

I think there's much more to learn in life that at school! Travelling is a great opportunity for us to learn languages, music, and jokes from all the world!

We can also teach you languages around a nice meal ( David can teach French and English, and Suzanne can teach Spanish, English, Portuguese and Catalan!).

We are easy going and peaceful, and we love cooking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We love cooking and exchanging tips and different recipies! We also love going out for a coffee or a beer and exchanging about our vision of life and travel!
