Overview
About Me
I enjoy making things, gardening, learning languages, and hiking tall mountains. I have a penchant for playing the guitar, bass, and drums. I am a whiskey enthusiast, cinephile, basketballer, globetrotter, and radio DJ.
I can host depending on my availability, but am always here to help a fellow traveler in some way. I am in graduate school right now, which means I am super busy. Hopefully we can at least share a meal, a drink, some live music, etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of my best traveling experiences occurred when I was able to see a place through the eyes and heart of a local. One could merely pass through a city or town as a blind tourist and never catch a glimpse of the local culture, try the incredible hidden restaurants, live music, and so on. For this, I offer travelers a view of New Orleans as I see it.
I have hosted travelers, attended meet-ups, and would like to couchsurf around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: Live music. Rock, reggae, gypsy-jazz, electro-swing, freak-folk, salsa, old school hip-hop, and so on.
MOVES: I studied cinema in college and can go on and on about it. I highly value watching movies in theaters. To me, it makes a huge difference. I love the films of Hitchcock, Kubrick, Gondry, Miyazaki and many many more.
BOOKS: Aldous Huxley, Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Ken Kesey, Jorge Luis Borges, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Charles Boudelaire, Herman Hesse, Thich Nhat Hanh, Haruki Murakami, Roald Dahl...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To name a few highlights:
Walking 900 kilometers across Spain, teaching English to Buddhist monks in Dharamsala, cooking for 80,000 people at The Golden Temple in Amritsar, surfing with dolphins in Los Angeles, Mardi Gras madness, watching cremation ceremonies in Varanasi, working on a coffee farm in Colombia, seeing Radiohead play live in San Francisco, wandering through the Fez medina, reaching the top of Volcan Baru, fishing for paranhas on the Amazon River, and deciding to host couchsurfers when I lived in southern Spain!.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy learning other languages, and I can pick them up very quickly. I used to teach English in Spain and I think language exchanges are fun and rewarding for everyone.
