About Me

I live in an apartment in Central Wellington. My apartment is very handy to things and Cuba Street - Wellington's (perhaps New Zealand's) most funky street.

I am a sociable guy and spend much time with friends and the rest of the time relaxing at home. I am a friendly and like to travel when I can which luckily is generally often. I have met amazing people overseas and here in New Zealand and developed great lasting friendships.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm open to meeting like-minded people and enjoy chatting and learning from others over cooking, chatting, a wine in the spa ... I have met amazing people on CS who have become friends.

Interests

I like the experience of traveling and understanding clothes and people. I have lived in Asia 6 years and love the people, food and experiences.

Outside of travel I enjoy wine, photography, walks and food. I like cooking and am more than happy for you to make a meal if you stay too! I like trying new or different things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to watch film these days. I enjoy a good laugh, action, drama. Lately it's usually Hollywood type films but enjoy a range of foreign or more festival films.
Music wise mainly pop, I love songs with incredibly sung lyrics. Some favourites include Pamola Faith, Damien Rice, Pink Floyd, Annie Lennox, Empire of the Sun, Cher, Lana Del Ray, Leona Lewis.

I favourite past time, especially in the colder NZ weather, is to sit in the hot tub (Jacuzzi) in my garden with a nice New Zealand wine and chatter away.

SOME FAV QUOTES:

"Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends". - Maya Angelou

"Become friends with people who aren't your age. Hangout with people whose first language isn't the same as yours. Get to know someone who doesn't come from your social class. This is how you can see the world. This is how you grow". - Unknown

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my zest for life :) I enjoy listening and learning from others - often about travel experiences. I love being immersed in other cultures and appreciating other ways of life.

The world is an amazing place full with amazing people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Knowledge, stories and experiences. I know how amazing it is just to hang with a local and do 'ordinary' stuff, seeing how others live and a different side from what a tourist would see. Sharing some wine, cooking and food would almost be mandatory...

Tell me why you chose to message me as a host. Thanks. I get many requests and host few and I'd like to know that you have read my profile and we may click. I'm not really interested in running a free hotel a good CS experience is a 2-way one.
