About Me

I am an artist, 72, living and traveling in my motorhome for half the year, and traveling internationally the other half. In this way, I plan to experience the entire world as my home, and everyone as a close neighbor. And as an artist, I seek to find a creative response to life as it unfolds.

Native of Cleveland, Ohio and graduate of John Carroll University, 1970 B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting; minors in Biology and Chemistry); Magna Cum Laude (1st in Accounting, 1st in School of Business) Certified Public Accountant.

Career Highlights:

Exceptional academics; "€Big Eight" €public accounting; senior executive reporting to COB of Fortune 35 Company at age 37; successful consulting practice in San Francisco for 10 years; career and lifestyle change to artist; body of artwork in poetry, one-page stories, sculpture, installations, performances, collages, photos and drawings.

Passion and Purpose:

I'm engaged in a worldwide social art project entitled "Unity". Imagine a giant pyramid (tetrahedron) circumscribed within the Earth, its points emerging at 4 equidistant locations around the globe. A NASA mathematician helped determine the "best fit" of the four Unity points: Canberra, Australia; Anchorage, Alaska; Tucuman, Argentina; and Harar, Ethiopia.

Traveling to each city, I'm constructing sculptures at 4 major universities representing the tips of the giant pyramid. One is nearly complete in Harar, and I'm currently in Tucuman building another at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional.

The artistic intent of the sculptures is to help people experience the world more 3-dimensionally. The sculptures will act as 3-D distance markers, showing the distances between the cities, both through the Earth and over its surface. Most Importantly, the 4 universities will interact in various ways, for example, with webcams at each location, enabling people to see and speak with each other. Other possibilities include student/art excahanges, joint cultural events, simulcast meetings, coordinated garden projects, etc.

In this way, Unity aims to promulgate a "Shared Garden" view of the world, replacing the existing "Warrior Model" as the predominant paradigm. Through their cooperative interactions, these universities will exemplify what it means to be true "World Citizens", leading by example to more quickly transform our troubled world.
