ABOUT ME

TO ALL SURFERS: Can I host? The answer is Maybe. I am currently feeling very frustrated with Couch-surfers; and feel too many travelers are abusing this site. Hosts like me work very hard to offer their homes out of the goodness of our hearts out of kindness and understanding. In only a few months, I have had four committed surfers flake on me after I went to extremes to have my place ready. On two of those occasions, I had given up my entire evenings and set all other life plans aside to only be stood up for illegitimate reasons.

I GLADLY WELCOME ANY COUCH-REQUEST. However, please know your exact timeframe and stick to it, and please do not request me if you are not 100% sure you'll be staying with me for the exact time you ask for. I want to host travelers on a budget as I am, but go to extremes to make all travelers happy, and only ask for keeping commitments in return. Thank you, and please feel free to request me as a host if you can fulfill this simple requirement.

ANYWAY, ABOUT ME: I am too sensitive! But, a big heart, love life, and always love to try new things. Enjoy meeting new people and learning new things. We're all different, and we all got to where we are now in one way or another; all in a unique way.

PHILOSOPHY

Anti-political of any kind. Oppose left and right, feeling there should be a balance. Just try to make the most of life, and accept the things I can't control. Accept the things I can't change, celebrate the things I can, and know the difference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Love to volunteer when time permits. Kids sports, camps, charity events, schools, etc. I enjoy hosting people from all walks of life, as it's always nice to learn new things and broaden horizons while helping with a place to stay. Understand being on a budget and needing assistance.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Neutral. It started out positive with me being a guest, and then hosting several great people. Then, people started flaking on me; and this past summer 2014 was a disaster. I gave up work, travel plans and many other time commitments to host travelers to only be stood up after surfers committed to stay with me. People like this make me want to quit hosting, as I'm only trying to help, and feel like people are forgetting the importance of common courtesy to keep a promise. Hosting started out 100% positive with four great surfers, then I nothing but trouble with promise-breakers summer 2014. I am really hoping this can change back to positive, and ask that only responsible people request me from here on out to restore my faith in travelers who are polite guests as I have tried to be when I travel.
