Overview
About Me
I recently moved to Chicago, where I work as a climate change scientist, aiming to achieve net-zero emissions and combat the global warming issue.
I obtained my PhD in Chemical Engineering from UAlberta in Edmonton, Alberta. I lived in Europe for 2 years, where I gained experiences in traveling and developed an appreciation for the diversity in cultures and traditions. I enjoy the beauty of nature and the differences in every culture and among people.
I'm shy at first, but once I get to know someone, I feel comfortable sharing everything. I'm pretty open-minded and friendly. I'd love to share experiences and stories, learn about new cultures, and expand my circle of friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since childhood, I've harbored dreams of exploring the world and witnessing its wonders firsthand. This ambitious aspiration was monumental for a young boy like me.
Discovering Couchsurfing unveiled a community where kindred spirits gather, all yearning to unravel the mysteries of our planet.
Now, as a member of CS, I'm excited to connect with fellow adventurers, broaden my global network, share cultural experiences, and extend a helping hand to travelers exploring my hometown.
Interests
I prefer to stay fit by lifting weights, cycling, and doing cardio exercises at the gym. I also enjoy rock climbing, swimming, and hiking.
During the summer, BBQs and picnics are a significant part of my leisure activities. I love spending time with friends, having drinks, and discussing our adventures.
Additionally, I'm a big fan of board games. Usually, I play board games with my friends on weekends. Some of my favorite games include 7 Wonders, Splendor, Takenoko, Catan, Ticket to Ride, Abyss, Carcassonne, and King of Tokyo.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Pop, country and folk music. When I need to stay focus, I prefer to listen to classical music.
Movies: action movies, detective movies, fiction movies. I'm a big fan of X-men and The Avengers
My favorite authors: Dan Brown, Guillaume Musso, J.K Rowling . But my favorite book I would say is "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keyes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I conquered a long pilgrimage (walking more than 200 km) in Poland, from Wroclaw to Jasna Gora.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be happy to share about Vietnamese traditions and foods! I am also keen on learning from others.
My current research is related to carbon capture and climate change. If you would like to learn or discuss current technologies for carbon capture, I'd be more than happy to share. I would also appreciate any contributions or perspectives from you on this topic.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm interested in cooking, discovering new culinary cultures, and sharing my native dishes. I would also love to introduce my country's culture and share my travel experiences.
Home facilities: WiFi, espresso coffee machine, tea, washing and drying machine, toiletries, fridge, stove, microwave.
