About Me

Mostly and above all I am a travel addict! The days I have spent visiting the countries other than my own are the most memorable that I have. I find a kind of a freedom when traveling which is why I always want more.

That said, moving from one country to another and exploring is not the only thing I find fascinating about travel. Meeting new people is also an important part of the process. Over the years I have accumulated a solid number of foreign friends and I have always been surprised by how easily one can find common interests with foreigners from completely different settings. I never say no to a good conversation and I am always ready to lend my year to the stories that people like to tell, so being acquainted with new people is also a kind of a hobby to me. I enjoy it very much!

My philosophy as a traveler: "No man is brave who has never walked a 100 miles. If you want to know the truth of who you are, walk until not a person knows your name. Travel is the great leveler, the great teacher, bitter as medicine, crueler than mirror-glass. A long stretch of road will teach you more about yourself than a hundred years of quiet introspection" (Patrick Rothfuss).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Two of my favorite things - traveling and meeting new people. Couchsurfing gives you the chance to do both at the same time in the best possible way. Right now I am living in Germany for couple of months which means I have a chance to travel a lot around Europe. I thought being here would help me meet some like-minded and generous people in the cities I visit, who also might just agree to host me during some of my travels or show me around.

One thing to know about me is that I have never Couchsurfed before and I am relatively new to this social platform. However, I have heard a lot of positive stuff about it from my friends who have done it, which is exactly why I'm so eager to try. I have also never hosted any surfers so far.

Unfortunately I am not able to host anyone at the moment, as I live in a student dormitory with very specific rules, but after I go back to my country next semester I plan to be as welcoming as I can!

Interests

I guess it is already obvious that I am interested in traveling and meeting new people above all else. There is no greater experience than that.

Additionally, my solid interests rest with the things I study - which is international politics and all its controversial issues. I know it might sound a bit boring at first but you really need to be in it to clearly see its goods and bads.

The definite upside is that my studies, both bachelor and master have made me capable of dealing with people with different ideas and ways of thinking - making me diplomatic in more ways than one :D Therefore you will find I hold no negative prejudices towards any faiths, cultures or ideas, of which I am proud.

Music, Movies, and Books

In terms of music I am fascinated by the works of Coldplay, all of their albums, without exception.
In general I listen to all types of music which pleases my year - I am rarely picky due to a genre. That said I have been more into electronic music lately, steadily following the world of deep and tropical house, with the one and only master - Kygo!

In the movies I look for action and an interesting plot. This is why I love and admire the works of Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott and so on. I am a lot into TV shows as well, especially the historical ones although I have been known to watch a lot of superhero shows as well - Game of Thrones, Vikings, the Legend of the Seeker, Penny Dreadful, Daredevil, Gotham and last but definitely not the least - Sherlock being some of the bigger titles.

I have read a lot of books in many different genres but the the ones which really fascinate me have always been books about adventures, real or fictional. I also love the world of fantasy literature with the big names such as Tolkien, Martin, Goodkind, Rothfuss and Rowling.
