CURRENT MISSION
turning dots on maps into life-changing real life experiences
ABOUT ME
I'm a laid-back Swiss guy, always looking out for adventure, and a nomad, spending a substantial part of the year backpacking and living now in the third major city since I left home. If there were something like world citizenship I would definitely apply for it.
I would like to get to know lots of amazing people and continents, as I believe that is the only true way to learn about life and experience life to the fullest. it is the only way for growth and positive change, for insight and cultural perspective. if you can imagine doing something, it means you can do it. so let's all imagine a better world together.

PHILOSOPHY
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive, well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, covered in scars, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'Yeeeaahhhh, what a ride!'"
Interests
I love travelling, it's like massaging your soul. after several months backpacking I realised the freedom connected to it. of waking up in the morning and not knowing in what city (or country) you will fall asleep tonight. or what you're gonna do. or who you're gonna meet. life on the road is a lifestyle and the meaning of human existence, otherwise we would all still be in the Rift valley (not that there's anything wrong with that!)
apart from that I like languages, cultures, nature (especially water), hitchhiking, day-dreaming, going to music festivals, Southeast Asian food, English literature, the night, watching the world go by from a train or bus, geography&history, hiking&trekking, Buddhist meditation, experimental cinema, books and bookshops, Dutch culture/Amsterdam, thinking outside and beyond the box, scuba diving, looking for the off the beaten track, travel writing (though Ive just started getting into it) and whatever is unknown or exotic!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
hitchhiking from the Netherlands all the way down to Croatia, teaching English at a Buddhist temple in Laos, living abroad twice (there's nothing quite like it to broaden your mind), scuba diving in Cambodia and Thailand, arriving in Ukraine and having to sit down on the street for two hours to learn the Russian alphabet cause I couldn't read street names or subway stops, sleeping on an active/erupting volcano in Indonesia, kayaking in the pristine jungles of Laos, climbing Matterhorn in the Alps halfway, sleeping in tents in the Sahara and climbing the dunes by moonlight, jungle trekking to indigenous tribes in Laos, and most importantly, the smiles I have seen all over the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
Being fluent in 5 languages and knowing a thing or two about some more I can show the basics and some communication skills. I love teaching languages!
I'm also really into cultures, societal topics, etc. so let's share!
