ABOUT ME

I try my best to keep things interesting and experience a wide variety of things. I love being alone in nature or being with millions of people in a crowded city. I'm happy to be backpacking 15 miles a day, staying home and studying Chinese or editing pictures, walking around and sightseeing all day (or better yet, biking around and sightseeing all day), or staying up late drinking and dancing. I love experiencing new things and expanding the boundaries of my comfort zone. I love languages and have spent a lot of time studying Mandarin and Japanese (in the past).

I graduated from college in 2009 then moved to California to do some serious nerd work. After 3 years of being cooped up in office buildings I saved money and quit my job to do what I really love most: see the world! I went to the Philippines, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Germany, England, and America (road trip + Burning Man) during this time. Since September 2013 I've had a job that allows me to work remotely and have been enjoying the freedom that brings. Currently based in Shanghai and doors are open to Couchsurfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfed a handful of times. I have randomly met a few people traveling and then hosted them when I lived in SF and Tokyo. I had one German friend come stay with me for 2 months in SF actually, ha.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a huge interest of mine, I go to concerts all the time and over the last year went to something like 6 or 7 music festivals. Favorites include Radiohead, Beach House, James Blake, Air, M83, The Knife, Hot Chip, blah blah blahhh!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the Annapurna circuit in Nepal which reaches 5400 meters (nearly 18000 feet). The scenery was mind blowing!
