Overview
About Me
I'm still young and vibrant. I feel like what makes me happy is exploring new grounds and cultures. Trying the spectrum of amazing foods. Meeting interesting, memorable characters along the way. I want to feel the freedom before it's too late. I love the family and friends I have. I love making new acquaintances and building my social circle. I don't think you can have too many friends. I love stories. I love movies. I write screenplays. I love the guitar. I write songs. I eat at restaurants. I write Yelp reviews. I love traveling. Some favorite spots included Australia and Chicago. I'm currently planning the ultimate 48-State Trip and planning a trip back to Australia, with a garnish of Europe somewhere in middle.
I probably own more than 150 hats. I'm a mad hatter. I love to eat sangwiches, from simple grilled cheese, to dedicated banh mi. The best idea for a sangwich is the waffle sangwich. I'm picky with the label of 'good food', but I do enjoy grease-wrapped fast food on up to obnoxiously artistic fare. I'm a tea lover and crave craft beers. But I could use a well-made whiskey sour once in a while. I've become a novice at yoga and am thinking about kayaking, bungee jumping and skydiving -- a little scared of the kayaking. I like to sit somewhere, sometimes, and somehow just people watch; guess their backstory, observe their interesting mannerisms. Tourists are the best guinea pigs. I'm trying to squeeze in time to learn Spanish, Japanese and Italian, as English was learnt me good.
It seems life now is about what we participate in and how we can post it onto Facebook for show and tell. It can be as trivial as marketing the feat of finally getting out of bed in the afternoon or posting someone else's facetious failures. And it can be as sentimental as partaking in a wedding and trekking on epic journeys into the unknown. If life has come down to what's on Facebook, then I'll choose the road less travelled and participate in the happiness that lasts longer than 1 minute, 36 seconds. Carpe diem. Live long and prosper. These pretzels are making me thirsty.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing seems like an avenue to meet interesting friends and make amazing stories that we can share and later, say, "Remember that time we..." Being part of a fun, feel-good community creates better understanding of why we are human and why it's better to live in harmony.
