About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is characterized by finishing my study in anglistics and political science, but also gaining experiences about the world with its cultures and habits.

ABOUT ME

Hello dear people,

my name is David, a ‘94 kid coming from Berlin.
I study political science and Italian. I have chosen these subjects because I intend to work as a journalist or to work in NGO's (Non-Governmental-Organizations), such as Amnesty International or UNICEF.
Of course, I can imagine to work in the UNO or as a freelancer, but no rush.

To estimate myself, I am an open-minded, kind guy who always likes to learn about cultures, particularly about the food cultures. I extremly love asian food, for example sushi, rice dishes and momos. Languages build also an interesting field. I am really astonished by how many languages exist and how many people keep in touch. Language means communication, comprehension and more.
I really appreciate this. Currently, I speak German, English fluently, actually French, too. To be honest, I need to improve my French skills.
Spanish is one of the most attractive languages for me. I just have to learn it because I am a beginner.
I don't need so many comforts. I am not a guy who complains permanently about little and meaningless things which might be solved by themselves.
On the other hand, if I have a problem with something, I refuse keeping quiet but rather mention it.
All in all, I am a cool guy with whom you might have a lot of fun. :)

If you have any questions about my person, let me know.

Best regards,

David :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest, I have not gained any experiences through Couchsurfing yet, however, I have planned to do something new. The thing is I would like to test myself. I want to give up the usual comforts like a hotel room with breakfast and dinner. I want to see how living in other countries is. As well, I want to meet people from diverse places. Additionally, I want to know more about their traditions, habits and life styles.

I miss travelling, I miss diversity, I miss distances and closeness.

Interests

Many years ago I found the passion for writing, particularly short stories and reviews. But I try to produce longer texts.

For a while, I ended up in the esoteric thread which means finding my personal middle point. Additionally, I intend to etablish a connection to my environment, especially the nature. I do not mean the usual nature, I mean the reality and its origins. The usual nature, however, will not be neglected.
Everytime I try to have a good day. My motto: Don't worry, be happy.
Sometimes I forget the motto and get angry or worried, but it is normal.
In earlier times, I was a pessimist. You cannot imagine how negative everything appeared to me.

There are usual activities as well, such as meeting friends, going to a café, clubbing, having conversations about several issues and so on.

Music, Movies, and Books

Many years ago, techno took a place in my heart. In Decembre 2012 I went to Berghain for only celebrating, without hoping to come in, but I did.
I was so fascinated and amazed by what Berghain actually offers.
Surprisingly, I didn't have a clue about techno music, no matter how much I admired the club.
Later, I was more and more interested in the music which became one of my favorite styles.
Before, I had beared passion for rock music. Currently, I admittedly listen to rock unfortunately hardly. However, I don't dislike it. No worries!

Honestly, I cannot name this special favorite movie I always watch.
There some I liked after watching it for the first time, for example Hunger Games, Pretty Woman, Casablanca and Colombiana.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In summer 2015, I dared to travel to Tel-Aviv. A place I have not thought about before. It was my first couchsurfing experience. High temperatures, a new food culture and a new language let me organize myself for the first time.

I stayed 12 days there and I don't regret any minute spent in the country because for me, it brought a huge enrichment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I promise a lot of fun, a view in my life and a great time.

Besides, I also offer my participation in the host's household which means cleaning, tidying up, cooking (I am not a good cooker) and buying food.

Additionally, if wished I can bring some souvenirs from my city (Berlin, Germany).
