I'm a Cape Town city boy who has spent the last two years working in the local wine industry. Consequently, I have saved up some cash and keen to explore Europe. I wanna eat my way through the continent, learn as much as I can, meet some interesting characters and eventually head home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanna explore Europe through my hosts' eyes. I'm travelling by myself and would love some company. I'm also keen to show people Cape Town -South Africa through my experiences. Ultimately, be a tourguide and welcome people into my home.

Interests

I love food and wine. Functional art gets my engines revving. So enjoy music, although unfortunately it seems I don't have a single musical fibre in my body. In Cape Town, I spend a lot of time with my dog in the forest and up the mountain. We are fortunate enough to have two oceans border our peninsular and I thrive off the sea, although our waters are plagued with great white sharks, causing me to remain largely on the sandy beach.

Music, Movies, and Books

The last movie I watched was Interstellar. I am a sucker for futuristic SciFis (Star Wars, The Fifth Element etc.). Probably my two favourite movies are Forest Gump and Pan's Labyrinth. I loved Intouchables. I felt like the soundtrack should be my life's very own.

Last book I read was Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse. I generally enjoy a gripping thriller, like the The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo series and Jo Nesbo. I'm no literary intellectual and thus I generally read whatever my trusted friends recommend.

My music taste is all dependent on what phase I'm in. Sometimes I prefer some more old school jams like Ray Charles. At other points I have been listening to Radiohead. I love Beyonce and MJ. Jamiroquai is also great. Recently I have been drawn to Kendrick Lamar. I really enjoy score music from movies. All in all, I'm fairly easy.

I can teach English to the best of my ability. I'm keen to learn whatever the host is passionate about and equally willing to share my experiences and interests.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some fun. I'm happy to teach my hosts English and hopefully learn their mother tongue simultaneously. A friendly face. A personal understanding of South Africa. I can cook some tasty meals.
