About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission on Planet E(art)h is to give Love and try to help the world express themselves through Art.
ABOUT ME
I am an Artist based in Chicago. I am in a funk band called whysowhite, a folk trio called Blue Glass, and a neo-vaudeville performance art duo called the Haines Sisters with my identical twin brother. I have a big heart and wide open eyes. I am positive and honest and always willing to have a good time. I can sing, dance, play the drums, cook, talk, clean, and I will always do my best to respect your space. I was raised to be a gentlemen in Alabama, so you can expect a touch of chivalry, too!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that we all have the same he(art). I believe that Love is the recognition of that he(art) in others and in yourself. I also believe that everyone is an Artist and that Art is our expression of Love through the unique filter of our very individual minds. That is what makes life interesting!
No Fear, All Love
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to surf and host. I have surfed without this website for a while now, but I really enjoy how this site operates, so I am on it!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed a good deal across the United States and abroad. I have only had one host from this site, but it was a really positive experience!
Interests
I am interested in art, what people love, dreams, food, disability, music, dancing, positivity, harmonizing, being honest, being open, and how people express themselves. I spend most of my time writing, playing music, working with people with disabilities, babysitting kids, listening to friends, dancing, lying in a hammock, dreaming, and smiling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I have ever done was spend 5 weeks at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California. I worked in the organic kitchen where we used vegetables we grew in our own garden and served over 300 people 3 meals a day. The landscape is unbelievable, too. There are all kinds of thriving plants, hummingbirds, butterflies, otters, dolphins, and also there was a whale migration while I was there... it was absolutely beautiful.
I have spent most of my life as a performer traveling the world. I have sung for thousands and thousands of people in my time and it has been an absolute joy. One of the most amazing times of that experience was singing American Gospel music all over Europe. It was my first time in Europe, I was 15, and I fell in Love. The most recent time I toured was with my band all over the US. The two were totally different, but held the same heart of experience.
Also, I hitchhiked the west coast of the US for a month or so in 2012. That was pretty wild, too. I can tell you all about it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am well versed in singing, drums, expressing yourself, journaling, unlocking your creative potential, and helping yourself tap into your inner depth. I would like to learn how to learn languages better, play guitar better, cook with more exotic ingredients, always more yoga, meditation tips, etc.
