ABOUT ME

David: Ok, so I'm a 30 year old working full time who caught the travel bug after graduating university 7 years ago, but I haven't ventured across the Atlantic in a few years. I grew up in a suburb of Montreal, and lived there for the first 27 years of my life. Then one day I decided to quit my job and move to the west coast; it's the best decision I've ever made especially since that's where I met Jacklyn (aww.....).

I like meeting new people, having a pint or two (or three), camping, going to any of Vancouver Islands awesome beaches, and I love learning about other people's cultures and sharing mine. I'm Slovenian-Canadian and hold citizenship in both countries, and I love talking about my parents' homeland of Slovenia, and about the country I was born in, Canada.

Jacklyn: Hello! So yeah, I've spent pretty much all of my life in western Canada, first in Terrace, a small town in northern BC, and now in Victoria. Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my family camping, hiking up mountains, swimming in lakes, climbing trees, and canoeing. I have less opportunity to do those things now but I still enjoy them all. I also like reading, drinking tea, having a pint or two (or three), and copying stuff from David's description.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is the first time we are using CouchSurfing but we hope this will be a great way to meet new people and get to understand other cultures while having the trip of a lifetime.

Jacklyn: Music, reading, petting neighbourhood cats that trespass in my yard, beer making, beer drinking, hiking, whisky, camping, looking at old stuff, looking at neat new stuff
