Overview
About Me
Hey!
The name's Dawid. Yeah, with "w", but it's still /v/ in Polish, but there's a twist: you read it as /DAH-vid/. Thanks! I'm a Polish guy who once studied French Language and Literature at the uni, and after couple of years and graduation, decided to take a course in Chinese. I've even gone to China for one year. And I have to admit, that was amazing!
More about me? I'm a person who doesn't like to make problems. Yeah, I have enough of 'em in my own life, so I don't need the new ones. I may be shy at the beginning, but if you give me a chance for a chat, I am sure you may like me. And chat until the sunrise. Or until I fall asleep sitting, what happened a couple of times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am here to find some wonderful friends from around the world and the countries I go. Recently, I've been living in a dorm, so there was no chance to take a guest, but I hope it will change soon! Never hesitate to send me a message: maybe I cannot host you, but we still can hang out!
Interests
Many things, to be honest.
- Recently, my productive power is located in my attempts to learn Chinese.
- I like Asian cultures.
- Languages (if you are a linguist: feel free to talk about linguistics with me, I love it! Especially about the languages I haven't learned yet).
- Manga, anime: I'm not an "otaku" or whatever the big fans call themselves, but I still like to watch some series from time to time. Or read a manga.
- Theater- I used to act in some amateur theaters, but unfortunately, as the time passes, so are people in such groups. But I'd still want to do something!
- literature
- theater
- anime
- languages
- volunteering
Music, Movies, and Books
Oh, there would be much to say.
Music? I think hard rock or heavy metal. Especially classics.
Movies? I really don't know, maybe "The perks of being a wallflower"? Why? Because it reminds me the '90s.
Books? I really don't have one that I particularly like. But I think I like the fantasy genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Volunteering in Emmaus Community in Lyon, France.
- Hitchhiking for the first time from Poland to Croatia and back!
- Being a tutor during a winter camp in Yunnan province in China, and then a 10-days hitchhiking trip across whole province. It was AMAZING.
Teach, Learn, Share
There's not much, but I can always try to teach you one of the languages I know!
What I Can Share with Hosts
- Languages, especially linguistic description of Polish language,
- Stories from my trips,
- Discussions about the culture.
