About Me
'Ello loves, I'm Day! Been travelling since I graduated, which was in 2012, so I've done my fair share of couch surfing since then. I've been living all over the world, mostly NYC, OZ, NZ, and bits of Asia! Oh and a wee stint in Turkey which was fab!
I'm currently home in Liverpool and wanting to see as much of Europe as I can, before Brexit digs it's claws in. Everyone in Australia thought I was an idiot travelling all that way I travel when I could have just hopped on a train and gone to Europe, so here I am!
I've been fundraising face-to-face for three years now, and am super easy to talk to as a result, I always have something to talk about, but I'm happy to keep my gob shut if you're not that type - I've got my poetry to work on and books to pour over.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to make connections with people I stay with. Transactional doesn't really do it for me.
Travelling alone is great, but obviously quite lonely, and I can't be doing with that after a certain point, I need people!
It's a massive privilege to be allowed into someone's home - when I have one it's always a sacred place. Somewhere to keep my books and make memories. The place I go to relax and be happy, or miserable. It's a little bit like being under a spell or enchanted when you're allowed into someone's home, and anyone who's willing to do that freely, like on couch surfers, must have something valuable to share.

Music, Movies, and Books
Really into Laura Marling at the moment, been revisiting her albums. I'm a massive Florence and the Machine fan. It's mostly always all about the voice, but if a song tells a story I'm into it.
Just watched Mr Nobody, which I really enjoyed - Jared Leto's in it, with a beard and long hair, which is a good enough reason for me to watch it.
Any movie where there's time travel, or an underdog kicks the bullies ass is going to be on my list. A lot of the time what makes me enjoy a movie is the soundtrack.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Graduate! I was a bit of a fuck-up when I was a tyke, and I'm proud to have bounced up from that. I've held a job for 3 years, graduated, travelled, published poetry, etc, since then.
Most amazing after that would be volunteering on a sail boat in the Whitsundays. Honest-to-god the most ridiculous place I've ever been in my life - I saw dolphins and whales for the first time! Swam with turtles, and a big stupid, beautiful beastly fish, half the size of me!
I spent four blissful hours on Whitehaven beach, swimming naked, with white butterflies flitting in clouds round me. Felt like a bloody princess.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share poems with you. They're each a lesson on their own. Maybe even some of my own!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook!
I am good with my hands, and quite tactile, so massages, if everyone is comfortable.
Silly stories of my travels, and my Scouse accent!
