ABOUT ME

Hola amigos! My sister, Aubrie, and I recently quit our jobs and our lives back home in the U.S., and have devoted the next year or two to traveling! We have both always been adventurers at heart, and are so grateful and excited to have finally brought this dream to reality. For the first year or so of our trip, we will be traveling in South America, visiting Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and possibly Bolivia. Having spent the large majority of our lives in the Southern Utah desert, we both have developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Some of our favorite hobbies include camping, rock climbing, backpacking, hiking, swimming, biking, and yoga, to name just a few. In addition, we love making arts and crafts, playing and listening to music, and spending quality time with friends and family. I speak Spanish fluently and Aubrie is learning. We are friendly and positive, honest and dependable, and very enthusiastic about learning new things and living life to the fullest.

Hola amigos! Mi hermana, Aubrie, y yo acabamos de dejar nuestros trabajos y vidas atrás en los Estados Unidos y nos hemos dedicado el próximo año a viajar. Siempre hemos sido aventureras y estamos muy agradecidas y emocionadas para finalmente tener esta oportunidad de realizar este sueño. Durante este año, estamos viajando en Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, y si el tiempo permite, Bolivia. Pasamos la mayoría de nuestras vidas en el desierto del estado de Utah, así que las dos hemos desarrollado una fascinación y pasión para el aire libre. Algunos de nuestros pasatiempos favoritos incluyen hacer camping y treking, escalar rocas, andar en bici, y hacer yoga. Adicionalmente, nos encanta hacer proyectos de arte, tocar y cantar música, y pasando tiempo con nuestra familia y los amigos. Yo (Dayci) hablo español, y Aubrie está aprendiendo. Somos amables, positivas, honestas y confiables, y muy entusiasmadas de aprender cosas nuevas y vivir profundamente.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to make new friends and meet the local people when I travel, and couch surfing is the perfect way to do this. It gives me the chance to connect to the community and learn wonderful things about the culture that I never could have learned otherwise.

Me encanta hacer nuevos amigos y conocer a la gente del lugar, y para mí, couch surfing es la manera perfecta de hacer esto. Me da la oportunidad de conectarme con la comunidad y aprender cosas maravillosas sobre la cultura que, de otra manera, no hubiera podido aprender.

Interests

The world is so interesting! I like so many things. Traveling is one of my favorites, getting lost in the wilderness, learning new things, laughing with my sister, with my family, with old friends or new, playing music, listening to music, dancing to music, making things into art, building stuff, talking to people and hearing their stories, making new friends, and having adventures.

El mundo me fascina! Me gusta de todo. Viajar es uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos, incluyendo perdiéndome en la naturaleza, aprendiendo cosas nuevas, riendo con mi hermana, con mi familia, con amigos viejos y nuevos, tocando y escuchando música, bailando (no muy bueno!) a música, haciendo arte, construyendo cosas, hablando con gente y escuchando su historia, haciendo amigos nuevos, y experimentando aventuras.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most of the music I hear from around the world. I especially love good old classical roots music or folk music. My favorite way to hear it is live, of course, and I also enjoy playing music with friends and family.

Me encanta la mayoría de las música que escucho del mundo. Especialmente me fascina la música folclórica. Mi manera de escuchar favorita es música en vivo, claro, y me gusta tocar mi propia música con amigos y familia.

We enjoy sharing meals with our hosts. Aubrie can give you a tarot card reading (really interesting and fun!) and Dayci can draw you a picture and play guitar.
