About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making every breath feel right

ABOUT ME

I'm just me. Used to be the type to stick in the eye, but I guess I've calmed down. Though, people still tend to either love me or hate me.
I like to learn a lot from others. And I always feel like there is just so much more out there. Trying to see the great even in the little routine-like things around me.
Am quite madly in love with life.

Interests

With more time and money available, I'd be interested in almost everything. I enjoy reading like crazy, love sports (tennis, snowboarding, roller-skating), photography, the cinema, the opera, the theater, hiking, picking mushrooms, cooking vegetarian dishes and baking cakes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Japanese, French, contemporary Latvian, American literature. Needing books more than air. Poetry lover. Especially contemporary Latvian poetry.

I've read almost every book there is of Haruki Murakami in English and am still planing to learn Japanese well enough to read the rest.
Deeply impressed by Michel Houellebecq. Amused by Frederique Beigbeder. Mystified by Arthur Rimbaud.

Returning to Fyodor Dosteyevky every winter. Loved the Brothers Karamazov. Love the Idiot. Started up with Crime and Punishment.

Yet to read Kafka's complete works. Loved Metamorphosis and in the Penal Colony.

Simone de Bouvoir and Jean Paule Sartre are a source for inspiration. Like many quotes from Michel de Montaigne, but have yet to read his essays.

There was a time when I couldn't listen to any music. It's gotten better now. Am almost cured. I love the opera, first of all. Loved singing Latvian folk songs in a choir.
Would say am a rock music kind of person in general. Don't know my classical rock that well.
Have had a Slipknot and SOAD phase.

Now I'd say I've calmed down a bit and can enjoy indie as well as metal.
Love contemporary Latvian bands. New territory for me. Momend, Gaujarts, The Sound Poets.

After seeing them in action, fell in love with the intelligent metal, as I like to think of it, of A Storm of Light.

Converge, Tocotronic, Poison the Well, Evergreen Terrace, Killing the Dream, Marylin Manson, Peter Broderick, Norah Jones.
Used to simply adore Muse.

Am a Cinéfile when it comes to French Films. Mostly contemporary. Used to have a crush on Louis Garrel. Ensemble c'est tout, Les Choristes, L'auberge Espagnole, Se souvenir de belles choses. Many, many great Films that I should have written down before I forget!!! The Cannes Festival Films have yet to disappoint me.

Inception, Fight Club, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Never Let Me go, On the Edge, An Education, Lost in Translation
