About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living life to it's fullest.

ABOUT ME

Happy, optimistic person married to a great man, Ray. Together (and seperately) we enjoy dancing, going to music festivals, spending quality time with friends and family and enjoying great food.

PHILOSOPHY

Plan for the future, but live life for today.
We both have been very blessed in our lives and yet try not to take anything for granted, especially when it comes to building strong relationships in our family, with friends and our community. We are both fun-loving people

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Offering our home to others who want to see the beautiful town of Raleigh, NC (we are walking distance to downtown) and getting to meet others in places across the globe. We look forward to couchsurfing with others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've hosted some wonderful people in our home over the past couple of years. It's been great sharing food, learning from each other and truly seeing all the connections we have together.

Interests

Ray and I are in a band (SWAG) together. Check us out on FB (SWAGNC)to hear the unique style of music we play and are having fun doing. We love music and all kinds of the arts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ray likes to soak up all the local and national politics and community development happening around Raleigh; Diane enjoys getting the readers digest version of them from Ray.
Favorite movies include The Color Purple, the Wizard of Oz, Up and Big.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Annual trips to New Orleans for the Jazz and Heritage Music Festival. The people, music, food and fun bring us back every year.
We went to Haiti in October/November of 2010 on a mission trip and were inspired by the people we were there to serve. Their optimism, strength and resourcefulness was memorable and life-changing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think both of us have a lot to share and learn.
Ray is super handy around the house and figures out a way to fix most things. Diane has a flair for color and art. Since both of us are musicians (Ray-- Bass Guitar; Diane-- percussion and vocals) if you'd like to learn or experiment with our instruments we'd be happy to share them.
We enjoy our community and are happy to share with you all that is has to offer.
Diane especially loves to learn what makes people tick, so just having conversations and learning about your life experiences is interesting to her.
