About Me
"Be alive, not just exist."
Juggling the distances between Jakarta, Bandung and Jogja all year around!
Raised up in Jakarta, but left the big city and I've been living in Bandung for my bachelor degree since 2011. Currently writing my final thesis about right-wing parties and migration policies for my International Relations degree.
I love to travel spontaneously and interact with new people, exchanging stories and experiences. Learning new stuff from many fields and love the multi & interdisciplinary approaches.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Engaging with cross-cultural experiences and different identities. Real interaction off the screens.
Interests
I always bring my film camera everywhere I go. I don't have any digital cameras because I love the 'slow process' of shooting images on film. I've been taking photographs on film since 2009.
I love to gallery hopping. I have admiration to visual arts and I'm enjoying other forms of art too!
I'm quite a voracious reader. Fiction or non-fiction, genre is irrelevant for me. I love stories. Any kind of stories with good plot and mesmerising characters. Beside reading I like to watch films and discuss about those stuff.
Food! I used to be a red-meat addict but now I'm on my way slowly to be a vegetarian. I still eat fishes and chicken. Sweet or salty or spicy I don't mind! I love food with balance taste or refreshing or unique taste! I drink coffee, tea, beers and wine.
Sometimes I write. Short stories, journal or poems. Occasionally I like to read them all aloud.
I have 2 cactuses and one succulent. I'm pretty bad at nurturing them. I'm less nurturing than a desert. I want to learn more about gardening and (urban/micro) farming.
I've been meditating regularly since 2015. I just did my first Vipassana meditation last November. Currently learning and researching about this.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to many genres. From Dream Theater to Jean-Luc Ponty to The Whitest Boy Alive to Lianne La Havas to Rhye!
Animal Farm by George Orwell is one of my all-time favorites. I also love Karen Armstrong's books.
I like some classic Indonesian literature like Pramoedya, Mangunwijaya and some contemporary ones like Seno Gumira Ajidarma, Ayu Utami, Laksmi Pamuntjak & Leila S. Chudori.
Currently reading "Flush" by Virginia Woolf and "I am the Cat" by Soseki.
I like Christopher Nolan's films. Especially his early work like "Memento". Thriller or action or fantasy I don't mind. Currently trying to watch horrors (please watch together I can't watch them alone hahahaha). Wes Anderson's films are cool! I'm also a fan of Wong Kar Wai!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got lost in confusing dodgy alleys in Bangkok without map. The people couldn't speak English. I survived though, at the end I found a small pier and hopped into the boat full of Buddhist monks.
Teach, Learn, Share
I keen to meet people who wants to learn or know more about film photography. I can guide you or lend you some cameras! We can learn together!
Currently learning how to speak Javanese or even any languages.
I love to hear your stories about your travel experiences or even about your own philosophy of life!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can take photographs of you on 35mm film format!
