About Me
Working on making my home, and the world, a better place to live. Working to understand how to design cities and places in a way that benefits the communities that live there. Passionate about public transportation and sustainability.
I love laughter. I can talk politics if that's your thing, or I can be silly and ridiculous. I guess I just adjust my behavior based on the people around me so that I can have fun just about anywhere without freaking anyone out. I am excited by things that are new to me, particularly people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had an incredible experience in Rome, Italy on my 25th birthday! My host was wonderful, and she took me around to see every single famous monument, all in one day. We ended the night at a dance club! I also had a positive experience in Athens, Greece! Domestically, I've used couchsurfing dot com in California and Oregon for short one-nighters.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: anything good! And by good, I mean: I learned something, I was moved artistically, or it was hilarious. Music: I'm into everything but I mostly like underground music. I mostly love rap, metal, punk, experimental, and electronic. Books: I don't read nearly enough because I absolutely love stories and reading. My favorite book to date is Robots, a collection of short stories by Isaac Asimov.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met two random people with puppies at Goldengate Park last year and ended up sailing past Alkatraz and under the Goldengate Bridge on a dinghy! The coast of San Fran was gorgeous in the sunset from the water.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been learning in a class on insect-plant interactions that M. Night S's terrible movie The Happening was actually correct about a few thing- plants DO communicate with one another using substrate-borne chemical signals. They send these chemicals or "volatiles" out through either the roots or the leaves so as to communicate through water running through the soil or through the air in wind. Also, these chemicals are indeed triggered by threats in the surrounding environment, but the threats tend to be direct and active, such as predation and herbivory.
