About Me

CURRENT MISSION

travel, meet new people and experience new cultures

ABOUT ME

On the whole I would like to think that i am a pretty positive and happy person. I'm open and friendly and enjoy meeting and getting to know new people. I try to live each day as it comes and to take something positive from each experience, even if it is a good story on how wrong things can go or just to know that I don't want to do something again.

I recognise that i have led a very blessed (and easy) life. I do, however, appreciate this and try not to take it for granted. Although I passed up many opportuniites when I was younger I now try to take advantage of new opportunities if I deem them important.

I enjoy being older and the mindset (wisdom?) it brings.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that it is everyday people who can offer the best lessons in life and that listening to their stories and experiences offers a richness rarely found elsewhere.

Without being too naive, I prefer to anticipate good in people and being proven wrong than expecting the worst from the start - for me, to look for the negative first means that negativity wins.

As a work in process i hope one day let go of the ego enough to be able to offer unconditional love and friendship.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Compassion, understanding, respect and acceptance for others and one's self are key elements in everyday life.

I am only new to couchsurfing but my reason for joining to to hopefully engage with the local people more than is generally possible when visiting touristic sites. I hope to learn about their lives - what they enjoy, don't enjoy, believe; how we are similar and dissimilar; offer a glimpse into my own world and hopefully build some lasting friendships.
