About Me
CURRENT MISSION
meet amazing people, do amazing things
ABOUT ME
i tend to ramble when filling out these things, so don't feel obligated to read the whole profile. but for me, couchsurfing is about meeting new, interesting people, so i think its important to give everyone a clear idea of who i am :)
so, like i said, i like new experiences, new people, new activities, new adventures. i'll try pretty much anything, just so that i can say that i have. i've done alot of random things in my life.
most people would consider me pretty alternative. i have crazy colourful hair, piercings and strange fashion sense. i've lived in squats, eaten out of dumspters, lived on a boat, lived on a bus, hitch-hiked, worked on organic farms... things like that. it takes all kinds, right?
im also really laid-back, down to earth and drama free. respectful, independent and easy to get along with. i like to get involved with new projects, to be productive and creative in as many ways as possible. i like to help people.
i also love a good stimulating conversation. particularly over a bottle of red wine.
PHILOSOPHY
this is a line from the Desiderata that i've always loved.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
by surfing, occasionally hosting (when i have a couch to offer), by telling people about my amazing positive experiences, as surfers and hosts, by attending CS events, and hopefully by organizing some events in the near future!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i've surfed parts of australia, south east asia, europe and america. i've organised and attended events in all those places too. i also try to host or at least meet up with people when im not traveling, but that doesnt happen very often. hahaha. i also try to talk about CS as much as possible. making sure its being understood and appreciated for its potential to be more than just a free place to crash for the night.
Interests
heaps of stuff... i like to try to stay healthy, but obviously balanced with having fun ;)
-love being outdoors (but only in warm weather), and i love to be active. i have TERRIBLE hand-eye coordination though, so i generally prefer activities over sports (like hiking over soccer, camping over basketball)
-i also love to be creative, love arts and crafts, sewing, painting, dancing, hula hooping, fire dancing, theatre, whatever. always looking to try something new.
and im a bit of a nerd, so i love to read, i love learning, watching documentaries, staying up all night talking about anything and everything.
oh, and occasionally i love to go out and dance all night long. or maybe just go down to the pub and grab a cpl beers. lately, i've had some obsession with wanting to play pool. which i suck at. but if someone will come play with me, i might get better...

Music, Movies, and Books
i like lots of music. especially live music. and if i can dance to it, i can appreciate it. i especially like stuff with funky beats, good rhythms and/or haunting melodies. i used to be a pretty big metal head, and still love most of it. i also like electronic music, and lots of older stuff.
i like movies with a good plot. and/or interesting characters. i'll watch pretty much anything, but the ones i really love are the movies that you have to think about. so i really like documentaries too.
books... i love fantasy adventure novels. sci-fi is cool too. i like autobiographies. i like shakespeare. i liked pretty much every book that they made us read in highschool english class. i just love to read. some books are better than others, but in general, i love sneaking off with a book, losing track of time and staying up all night reading.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
its hard to pick just one... probably the most amazing thing that ever happened in my life was picking up and moving to the other side of the world. australia was full of amazing experiences for me, and i felt more at-home there than i ever have anywhere else.
Teach, Learn, Share
-i can teach you synchronized swimming... but not many people are interested... haha
-have recently been learning some circus/performing arts and would love somebody to practice with/learn from
-i like to experiment in the kitchen, so its great to team up with someone who actually knows what they're doing...
