About Me

Hello!

I am a neuroscience PhD student from Mexico living in Europe. I enjoy trying new foods, and experiences, with people from all over the world. I was pretty lucky to be able to do my undergraduate studies in the USA, where I lived in different states (IN, CA, & TX), & my masters degree in Switzerland.

I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, running, swimming, and just recently I learned how to skii, remember, there is almost no snow in Mexico -which is probably for the best. I also like sitting down with friends and have a fun conversation about politics, personal experiences, or science. I really enjoy meeting people who are in the arts, as I don't get to meet many in my work environment, or in general people different from me, who teach me new things about the world :)

Anyways, I hope we get to meet in some couch surfing adventures!

Cheers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because I prefer getting to know people local to a vacation destination than in a generic hotel.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favorite albums of all time is 50 Words of Snow by Kate Bush (in no way related to 50 shades of Gray, although I have no issue with 50 shades of Gray -if that's what you are into ). I also like the band Beach House, whose album Zebra is my favorite. Here comes a list of some my fav artist: Animal Collective, Nina Simone, Julia Holter, Tame Impala, Arcade Fire, etc... I hope I don't get judged too hard for this, but I although I never liked Britney Spears when I was a teenager, I really enjoy this kind of nostalgia-fun that playing her music nowadays brings me.

Movies

I am not very good at watching movies, but sometimes I manage to sit down and watch them. Some I've recently liked are Boyhood, Birdman, and I was really enjoying La Grande Bellezza when I unintentionally fell sleep. I also enjoyed Forrest Gump, Amores Perros, The Help, Will Ferrell's movies, and others.

Books!

I like books! For fun I mostly read fiction. Some of my favorite writers are Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Mark Twain. Huckleberry Finn is one of my favorite books, but my favorite book of all time is A 100 Years of Solitude. I also have to read lots of scientific articles for work. I think my favorite scientific publication is Scientific American, if I was to suggest one.
