ABOUT ME

A keen traveller with the intent on learning languages and eventually working in the country im volunteering in. I've racked up almost 12 months of travelling through Asia, Central Europe and the Americas. My professional background is in construction project management and customer service.

I like to think of myself as a bit of a sponge, I try to absorb everything I come across and I'm always up for learning new skills. My priority is to learn any skill that could benefit my background and interest, construction, but along side that my real reason for volunteering is language learning. Travelling in-between volunteering stays is something I want to do, but if it conflicts with dates I will happily push dates back as I have no deadlines.

During my past travels I have previously travelled, working on coffee plantations, hostels and an eco-lodge. My role changed considerably depending on what was needed on a daily basis, be it bar tendering, manning a till or reception desk and various farming/maintenance/building projects. I enjoy being able to pay for my stay with skills I already possess and learning new things along the way, for me it's what makes my travels the immersive journey of learning that I yearn for.

I'd like to think of myself as a kind, happy and easy going person with great person skills and a thirst for knowledge. I like to go with the flow but can easily take charge if need be and know how to organise groups of people.

PHILOSOPHY

Money doesn't make the world go round, people do. You just have to stop and look rather than move with them to see it.
