About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting new people via the couch surfing experience

ABOUT ME

I live in the funky/cool nieghborhood of Ballard, where i scored my first Alaska fishing job many years back, and where i am currently experimenting with the very novel idea of having a job and a place. (So far so good!) I live with my very cool roomate Cheryl Smalley, (check out her profile) and together, we are couch surfing hosts extraordinaire. I am a volunteer sail instructor at the Center for Wooden Boats, and am a frequenter of music shows and hip Seattle drinking esatblishments.

PHILOSOPHY

"A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent upon arriving"-Tao Te Ching

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Want to go sailing? Go to a poetry slam? Learn how to smoke fish? Barbeque on the beach? Have drinks on Ray's porch and watch the sun set across the sound and over the Olympic mountains? These are just some of the things couch surfers have done whilst surfing in Cheryl and Brian's realm. Our location in excellent, near to Market St. and with bike access to Fremont, the U-district, the locks, the beach, ect...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed many a couch in my time, but never a couch ordained and certified by an internet site. That said, it sounds like a good idea.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hoping to find Radiohead tickets, that reminds me...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing offshore Washington and Oregon aboard my 28 foot sloop was the culmination of boyhood dreams and hard work. To travel by the wind, without sense of time-this is magic.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would like to learn salsa dancing-will trade for sailing lessons!
