ABOUT ME

This all feels a bit hard to summarize, but here goes!
Recently gave up a job as a designer/animator to go back to school for filmmaking. Now, I've just graduated and am coming out of a writing program in Lithuania, en route back home. Though I'm still working madly on my writing and film work, I'm traveling and trying to learn as many languages as possible in this short time, and hopefully meet a few great people along the way.

I'm also working on a series of slow-motion video portraits for a show in Chicago in August. If I meet you, I will probably ask, without expectation, to take one of you.

Though I haven't had the opportunity to officially host anyone yet, I've met amazing people through meetups in Berlin, New York, and Chicago, and hopefully elsewhere, soon. It's safe to say that anyone I meet, around the world, will always have a place to stay in Chicago, or New York, or whereever I may be at the moment.

Paul Bowles's The Sheltering Sky was my favorite book for a long time and I try to read his stuff whenever I travel (appropriate, as they're mostly about Americans doing terrible things to each other while traveling).
Recently: The Unnamed (Josh Ferris). Godel, Escher, Bach. Oliver Sacks. Unaccustomed Earth. Michael Chabon is inhumanly incredible. Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
The New Yorkers that I don't actually have time to read but are probably amazing.
