Overview
About Me
For the last few years, I've been working as an editor in Toronto. It has been great meeting so many different people and helping them with their projects and writing. I've helped people with Masters and PhD theses, as well as application letters. One of the favourite projects that I did work on was an application letter for a PhD program in fine arts where the proposed thesis topic was the visual representation of the koran in a plural secular society. I consider myself non-religious, but I am from one of the most multicultural cities in the world (Toronto), and I appreciate and love to learn from people and ideas from all different traditions and backgrounds.
Next September, I will be starting a PhD in English Literature at the University of Toronto. I aim to focus on 17th century literature and its intersection with science and natural philosophy during the scientific revolution. But I have lots of different interests. I tend to read a fair bit, but I also love to watch movies, hang out, or go out for dinner or dancing with friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couch surfing because I think there is probably no better way to meet people that I never would have had the opportunity to otherwise. Only half of what we know is written in books (probably even less than half), and often there's no other way to learn and grow than by speaking to people who live half a world away.
