About Me

Welcome! I'm an English teacher from the United States and a big fan of Couchsurfing. I'm happy to accept any fellow travelers and I can help you find your way around the area.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of meeting fellow travelers and being able to find a couch with a like-minded stranger anywhere in the world. Wherever I end up in the world, I always to be able to give back to and be a part of a community like this.

Interests

World travel and foreign languages are definitely some of my top two interests. One of the first things I ask when I meet someone from abroad is where they've been traveling to and a few words in another language they can teach me.

I'm Jewish, not very religious but I am interested in Jewish history and culture in other countries. I'm really engaged in politics at any level - I used to spend a lot of time at left-wing political rallies and protest marches

Music, Movies, and Books

On the Road and The Prophet are my personal bible. I love fantasy/sci-fi of all kinds, and I try and read real literature to balance it out. My favorite movies are smart action movies like Blood Diamond or Children of Men, or really bad horror movies, like Shaun of the Dead or Army of Darkness. I like indie rock and 70s folk music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Toss up between dog sledding in Swedish Lappland or building giant puppets for street protests in Boston.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always up for hearing stories about places I've never been to. I'd love to share traveling tips with other couchsurfers - the cheapest airlines, your packing secrets, that kind of thing. I recently learned about WizzAir - THE BEST way to travel around eastern Europe in my opinion.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sofas, beers, and travel stories.
