ABOUT ME
I grew up in Minnesota, lived in Morocco for two years as a child, went to the U of MN for English/Computer Science/Biology, transferred to BYU where I studied computer science during the .com boom, got sucked away from school with a job offer that was too good to say no to, got laid off when the crash hit, worked independently for a while, joined the US Army in 2007, went to Iraq in 2010, and now I'm living in Boston going to school.
I love to meet new people, learn about them and their culture and background, I love learning new languages and trying new kinds of food, and I am always planning a trip to someplace I haven't been before.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that everyone is first and foremost an individual and a member of their respective sex, religion, nationality, etc. second.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm still getting to know Boston, but if you're in town I'd be happy to show you around. Just send me a message here on the CS web site with some information about how long you'll be in town and what you'd like to see while you're here and if I'm available I'll make sure it happens!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never traveled with CSers before - the "traveling" ones you see below are people I met when I lived in Utah; since I updated my profile with my new hometown, it thinks I was traveling when I met them. I look forward to having the opportunity to do this in the future, but for now I am enjoying welcoming travelers to Boston.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was in Iraq, I used to like to sit on top of a bombed out Iraqi bunker in the evenings while the red sun silhouetted Blackhawks on our runway as it set. Barn swallows were nesting in the remains of the bunker and they would swoop and dive around my head, acrobats catching insects as the heat of day simmered off of the pavement and boiled away into space. The desert stretched silent around me. In a country at war, I had found a moment of peace.
