About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To observe, taste, see, explore Western Europe in all it's glory, and to meet people who make the cities what they are.
ABOUT ME
I am a study abroad student from California who is majoring in French Studies and International Studies with a minor in Communications. One of my greatest passions in life is connecting with people from around the world, to learn what they hold the most important and valuable in life, based on cultural, religious, or moral influences. I love being able to communicate with people in their native language if possible, and it is one of my personal goals to be able to speak French, Italian, Spanish and German fluently in order to better relate to the people that I meet, whether on a personal level or professional level. I grew up with a lot of European mentors who have pushed me to reach my ambitions, and I am glad to finally have the opprotunity to undertake them. I've played both classical and jazz piano in my youth, although it has been some time since I've been able to touch a piano. I love all forms of art: photography, painting, drawing, theatre, dancing... and I am lucky to have had the opportunity to explore each of these mediums growing up in Sacramento. I'm also a big sports fan, most notably tennis. I've been playing for 12 years now, and would play in local tournaments often. I even brought my tennis racquet to Europe in the hopes of finding someone to play!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It is my sincere hope to make new friends while couch surfing, and I would love to share with those who are curious about California culture as much as i have to offer. ( I almost always come bearing gifts from home as well). I have hosted a few foreign students back in my hometown, and I love showing people around the local sites and hotspots for an authentic experience.
When I return to California, I would like to help fellow couch surfers explore Los Angeles and Long Beach as much as possible!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Haven't had any experiences with CouchSurfing yet, but I have friends who have told me some great stories! Can't wait to recount my own.

Music, Movies, and Books
As a musician, I find it important to embrace and enjoy all genres of music. I particularly enjoy classical, jazz, dance, electronic, alternative rock, and country music. I have taken a few film classes at my university and have really come to enjoy French New Wave films and other films from the 1950's to 1960's. I am currently reading two very intense books: one is Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" and the other is Miyamoto Musashi's "The Book of Five Rings". In a funny way, both have insightful parallels to one another, but both are focused on philosophies of life."Atlas Shrugged" follows the lives of American business men and women and their endless pursuit of love, money and profit. " The Book of Five Rings" is a focus on the craft of sword warfare in Japan, and was written in the 1600's by a famous samurai to enlighten others on his approach to the art of warfare.
