About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to practice what I study

ABOUT ME

I have two great kids(in college)and a wonderful wife. We have lived in 7 countries and have travelled to many more. I will be relocating to Tegucigulpa, Honduras in July. My son introduced me to this "couch surfing thing" and it seems pretty cool.

PHILOSOPHY

Have bravery to be yourself, let go, and have faith it will be OK

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will participate by providing hospitality and accomodations for people passing through Tegucigulpa, Honduras.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My son arranged for a place/couch in Florida - that's really what prompted me to become a member of this community; my experience was fantastic, and I plan to surf my whole life.

Interests

I am always up for a dive or a snorkel, a run, a bike ride, some fishing, or a good meal with family and friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- Forrest Gump is wonderful;I am also a sucker for all Will Ferell movies.
Music- Dave Mathews, Paul Simon, a good drum line, Don Ellis, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, different music from other cultures - and stuff shared with me by my brother and my kids.
Books- Right now I am really eating up all books exploring Buddhism.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once watched a brown paper bag fall from the sky(it was very calm/no wind)and land about 20 ft from me. I don't know how/why it caught my eye, but I watched it for more than 60 seconds as it descended to the earth - where it came from I don't know (OK, I'm guessing it dropped out of a plane that had passed with out my noticing, but I don't know this for sure).

Teach, Learn, Share

I am starting to understand a little bit about living with continual mindfulness- on the one hand it's quite simple, but on the otherhand it's some heavy stuff.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Benin, Canada, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Greece, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Egypt, Ghana, Guam, India, Mexico, Singapore, United States
