Then part of the time i think he'd be
truly in his element living in a huge
decrepit castle in some archaic Eastern
European nation, shooting a shotgun at
the decaying remnants of 16th century
tapestries, quoting German poetry, and
howling at the moon.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had the good fortune to couch surf on five continents (both using this website and through my own designs). I've met some great folks and done things I very likely would not have otherwise had the opportunity to do.Most places I've lived have been stopover points for wayward musicians, on-the-lam revolutionaries, and dirtbags too lazy to walk home after a night at the bar. If you're interested in thinking and are not easily offended, we are eager to host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A lifetime of pre-official-CS couchsurfing. Facilitated by the internet, I've been hosted on five continents (all save Antarctica and Africa --  although n.b. I have couch surfed Antarctica, but not through this thing here, and I'm defining "couch surfing" rather loosely). Two superlative hosts that stick out for me are Nishant in Shanghai and Kirsty Sarah in Christchurch, NZ.
