ABOUT ME

In the words of Ani Difranco: "I am not a pretty girl".
I am an eclectic "professional-student", artist, musician, dancer, writer, adventure seeker, model, activist, athlete, trailblazer, designer, Jesus-freak and theatre geek; I live by inspiration and aspiration and all things that allow my imagination to run rapid through a colorful, candid-incandescence.

Interests

-I'm a Grad student in So. Cal studying Mammal Zoology - My goal is to do field research for Nat. Geo, BBC & Discovery. Basically it will be my job to camp out in the wilderness and observe the world. <3
-I live by music theory. I play Piano/Keys. Gee-tar. Percussion - Drum circles with my djembe are my favorite. I am learning to play Violin, Cello & the Harp.
-I compose MUSIC then I dance to it. (I will one day audition for the Phil Harmonic Orchestra).
-I am a trained & certified dancer: Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Street, Hip Hop, Improv, West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop and Ballroom. I am also a flyer/acrobat/stunt-girl/gymnast. (I will audition for a Broadway & Cirque show in the next 2 years).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm amazed by so much! I Rock climb on a regular basis and that has prompted me to travel to far away places - constantly searching for the rock.
I've begun a solo cross country road trip this year (2009) with just me, my dog, my crash pad and a -20c sleeping bag. I got to jam with some musicians, model with other models, meet photographers, experience new food and just good people and I got to see a ton of landmarks, canyons, rivers and other things that truly changed my life.
I stood at the edge of the grand canyon - then hiked downward.
I zip lined through the Costa Rican forest and canoed in a crocodile infested river.
I swam in the ancient ruins of the Black Sea.
I taught the most 2 awkward people on the planet to dance the waltz on their wedding day - and it was beautiful.
I kept the same 3 friends for a decade and counting.
I packed up my life at 17 and traveled California on my moped for 2 years - I moved all over the country and abroad in search for art and the meaning of words (not life) with nothing but a back pack, a notebook and a 2 speed.
I have gotten to experience people and have been impacted by love, life and depth of the human spirit.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH: I teach piano/music theory & dance in the states. All types of dance - from swing, to ballroom, to hip hop and jazz. I also teach yoga and am a hard core rock climber and footballer. I love to row so any rowers out there let's get together!! I'm an experienced coxswain as well.

LEARN: I want to learn more strings - Piano and guitar have helped me understand the concept but I want to be around people who will push me to be a better celloist and violinist. I also want to learn to sail, how to make my own sushi, ice climb, snowboard, and how to build a house.

SHARE: I'd love to get together with other musicians, dancers, writers, comedians, rowers, footballers, travelers, adventurers, philosophizers, athletes, models, climbers and just plain ol' good people. I'm heavily involved in music so anyone who likes to be around it or discuss it or create it is good with me! :)
