Hey!

I'm Dean, a 27 year old guy from the UK who is currently based in Tbilisi. I work partially as a maths teacher here in the city and partially as a freelancer online.

I'm a keen traveller and love to meet new people from all over the world. For me, travel is all about meeting people and the experiences you have together. Sightseeing bores me pretty quickly, if I'm totally honest but the chance to go to a random bar in a random part of town and chat with locals, that's right up my street!

Anyway, I've only just come back to hosting after a few less stable years and COVID times etc. My ability to host is quite sporadic but hopefully I can find the time when you're in town 🤞Tbilisi is an amazing city and I've grown to know it pretty well despite not being from here 🇬🇪

I want to make new friends from all over the world and learn something new every day! Keeps you young, I believe

Interests

Obviously, I love to travel but I am also a very keen runner - short, long, trails, road. I love to swim in rivers, lakes etc and learn new languages (even though I'm awful at them!).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I predominantly listen to rock and metal but also love Taylor Swift 💁

Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Phone Booth, In Bruges

Books: Prisoners of Geography, Born to Run, anything non-fiction about politics

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ridden a 50cc scooter to the highest village in Europe up a 15km dirt track (yes, the policemen laughed at me at the top with mud all over me!)

I can share my knowledge of the city, food, space etc. I would love to learn about your language and culture - that's why I'm on couchsurfing, to meet new and interesting people. I hope we can share stories about great times together and great experiences from the past.

I enjoy trying to adapt to the culture of the region I am in. I will just do what you would normally do! I am very flexible and appreciate you helping me see a city from a local's viewpoint.
