About Me

Writer, Musician, Sportsman, Poet, Wanderer. I'm warm, calm, caring and easygoing and love living each day as it comes, as opposed to worrying about the future. It goes without saying that I love traveling. I also love scuba diving, camping, hiking, fishing, the outdoors, and anything that goes with nature and roughing it out. I've played a few sports through my years at semi-professional and professional levels such as football (soccer), field hockey and volleyball.

A huge beach person, but I love the mountains equally...I've never understood why one needs to choose. Also a voracious reader, and a huge fan of good music. I'm a gypsy soul who loves exploring new cities and hotspots, and meeting new people in places I haven't been to before. Also a big culture and food buff...I love eating new, weird cuisine (the spicier the better) and I love immersing myself into new cultures from around the world.

Back home, I work in Marketing with an IT firm, play with three bands (guitar, bass, vocals) and do a ton of freelance writing and Marketing work. I love animals (especially dogs) and am full of stories and surprises (of the good kind). I'm told (and I'd like to believe) that I'm extremely funny, awesome company and great fun to be around. I am self sufficient and love taking care of people - something that comes from my past and the way I was brought up, but that's a whole other story...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With regard to hosting, I'd love to use Couchsurfing to make friends with people around the world and show them the sights and sounds of cities around India. I love taking care of my guests, and I know some of the most popular spots across Mumbai, Pune and Goa, so you're in safe hands. Hit me up, if you're ever close by.

I've done a spot of traveling, but I've always craved seeing a city from the perspective of the native residents. Being a resident of Mumbai, India (originally from the tourist state of Goa), I understand how easy it is to visit a city or country and miss out completely on actually experiencing the place for what it truly is. I'm hoping Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to experience this with destinations I visit in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'm a huge movie buff...basically anything with a good story and good writing is my thing. Some of my all time favorites are The Shawshank Redemption, Inception, Munich, Schindler's List, Nolan's Batman Trilogy, 50 First Dates, Dead Silence, Marley and Me, Shutter Island and a whole bunch more...

Music: One of the most difficult questions for me to answer. Huge Country Music fan. Also love a bunch of other genres like Progressive Rock, Grunge, Punk Rock, Hard Rock and some Metal, Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, Funk, Blues, Jazz, RnB, Gospel...and the list goes on. My music tastes are extremely diverse and having been exposed to music all my life, and having played with a bunch of bands, I'd like to believe I know how to really appreciate good music.

Books: Why is this one always the hardest? Shantaram, The Kite Runner, The Audacity of Hope, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Hobbit, The LOTR Series, The Harry Potter Series, P.G. Wodehouse, anything by Grisham or Patterson and basically most anything I can get my hands on, if I'm in the right mood.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've performed with several celebrities including:
1. Singing backup with Indian singer A.R. Rehman
2. Playing Bass with Australian bowler Brett Lee

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach music, the English language and a lot about the Indian culture. When it comes to myself, I consider myself a perennial student in the school of life. I'd love to learn new languages and about new cultures around the globe, and basically anything new I can pick up in my travels that will make for good stories. I'm always up for new experiences and I love trying out new things, no matter where I am. I also love sharing life experiences and listening to stories other locals and travelers have about their adventures on and off the road.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can clean and share the burden of food and other expenses, if needed. I can also help with repairs, and laptop or computer software issues, being an Information Technology engineer by profession. I can also teach English, Guitar, Indian Culture and address any questions you have about India as a country.
