About Me
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Philippines and moved to Canada in 2008 to work as a Registered Nurse. I'm an avid runner and mountain biker. I run marathons(sub-3:10) and enjoys running ultras. I bike to work but seldom join mountain bike races.
I like the rigors of everyday training and the feeling of improvement thru handwork that manifests from continous training but also can freelance and be spontaneous.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on Couchsurfing since before we left Toronto(July 2015) but only seriously considered it after a couple of great experiences here in Mexico from Warmshowers (hosting network for traveling cyclists) hosts who are also Couchsurfing hosts.
I'm on Couchsurfing first and foremost to meet great people along the way as we travel by bike to South America. The free accomodation thing is really just a bonus believe it or not as most traveling cyclists have tents, stoves and other camping gears. For cyclists, it's actually a lot harder to arrange and look for a host because we have to make a detailed itinerary to give our hosts. Thats normally not possible if you travel by bike since anything can happen and everything depends on how hard or flat the roads are. It's a small sacrifice that we're willing to pay for us to meet great people and make our once in a lifetime adventure more memorable.
Interests
As I travel, I keep noticing my appetite is getting bigger. Currently, I'd like to sample the regional dishes when I'm in town and I miss beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can listen to any music though I prefer folk, classic and lately I've been to Indie rock. My fave book up to now is All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthty. He has several books that have been adopted on film but this one still captivates my imagination.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Awestruck was I walking for my first glimpse of Machu Picchu. I was initially not excited to go because it's too expensive but well worth it once there.
All the things you've read and heard about the Everest Region are all true, that place is just m.a.j.e.s.t.i.c.
What I Can Share with Hosts
When I grew up in the Philippines, I never imagined to have a chance to travel longterm like this. Now that I have a chance to travel a meet diverse people I fee like I become an impromptu ambassador for the Philppines. I'm sure not many people know that small SE Asian country so having me is like a cultural exchange. I'll cook you some Filipino dishes if your game. It doesn't matter if your vegetarian though you'll have the full dining experience if you're not.
