Hello! I just turned 40 and am hitting my second wind. My babies are all grown up and in college now, so it's time for me to fulfill my own dreams once put aside in the name of motherhood...and that includes traveling anywhere and everywhere my wallet will allow me to go before I die. I'd love to meet some new friends along my journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am traveling solo to Europe this winter. It will not be my first time to travel solo (I've traveled USA extensively), but I know that one of the most rewarding parts of my past travels has been meeting locals, sharing conversation, drinks, food, adventures, submerging myself in the culture, etc. My best trips have been the ones where I've left with new life long friends. (I have several I still keep in touch with regularly). So, I hope Couchsurfing will help facilitate those types of bonds and experiences.

Interests

I'm just an easy going, fun-loving person. I love wild parties just as much as I love quiet nights. I love meeting new people and trying anything new. Karaoke is a huge hobby of mine. I'm known to randomly break out in song.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is life. I listen to everything from Tom Waits to Kanye (seriously). I love any and all music.

Books: I love classic literature. I'm a huge history buff. Jane Austen, Bronte Sisters, Mary Ann Evans, Emily Dickinson, Anais Nin...just a few of my favs.

Movies: Too many, like music, I love cinema. I will watch anything. It would be almost impossible for me to pick a favorite. I'd have to break it down by director, then possibly genre

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done alot, and have alot of very cool stories to share (I seem to be a magnet for bizarre experiences, lol)

Most interesting: I survived one of the largest EF5 tornadoes in recorded history AND I have been in several weather documentaries as a result.
