Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make a bit of money to open a hostel/guesthouse somewhere in the Third World.
ABOUT ME
Been traveling since forever.
Went back to school at the age of 40 for a degree (MATESOL) which gave me the qualifications necessary to work in many different countries.
Have no "real" home; consider myself a World citizen.
Believe in friendship, honesty and kindness.
67-yr-old fart but refuse to "act my age". (Except for my laziness which keeps me laying down under a laptop for hours on end just watching old TV junk.)
Also spend lots of time just laying down reading more junk.
Got my MA just so I could get jobs around the world. (Finally retired and trying to survive on my limited fixed income.)
Have lived in hostels quite a bit and have also run hostels.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it's great to have an organization that encourages people to travel!
Had a great time hosting couchsurfers from around the world while living in Cambodia and Morocco.
Checking out being a guest for a change....

Music, Movies, and Books
Classic Rock, and yes, even Country and Western.
Star Trek (NOT to be confused with yucky Star Wars!)
All kinds of books, but lately mostly very light reading.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While living in the Central African Republic, reading Roots by kerosene lamp (before the TV series aired).
Visiting a Pygmy tribe (twice) in a totally non-touristic way.
Teach, Learn, Share
Still learning to use my not-so-new Smartphone.
