Overview
About Me
My husband and I have lived in Pune for more than a decade now, and have a lovely little apartment on the outskirts of Pune, immediately off the highway that leads to Mumbai, Bangalore and Goa. We love to travel, meet new people, make music and cook up a storm being foodies. I am an ex-AIESECer and the man's an ex-Rotarian, and we genuinely enjoy getting to learn new cultures and of places. We love to game, read, talk, watch movies, listen or play music, and have a fun, good life. I grew up in Great Britain and completed my high school there. He's born and brought up in Bombay. We are both Bengalis by birth, though he's hardly lived in Calcutta. I, on the other hand, love the Bengali culture and participate whenever I can in organising community-based festivities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Our home is a little bit of joy in an otherwise crowded, transforming city, and we want to extend an invitation for friendly, happy travellers on transit or out to explore this part of the country.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - We listen to every genre from western classical to classic rock, indie, soul, world, lounge, reggaeton, sufi and Indian classical.
Movies - We love action and comedy flicks. We secret watch a few mush fests too, but only the classic, familiar ones, and seldom. I used to head the world film club in our college, and Cinema Paradiso topped my list. Our latest favourite is John Wick - so much swag!
Books - The boy loves comics, graphic novels, humour and suspense. I am a Literature major and have read pretty much everything from Aristotle to Derida, Murakami to Tagore and still have an endless list to read through. Together, our favourite is fantasy fiction, and we haven't crowned a better beyond Dan McGirt for writing Jason Cosmo. Tolkien, Neil Gaiman and Pratchett follow on the list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelled alone. Multiple times. Best feeling ever!
Teach, Learn, Share
We've both worked extensively in various organizations to better the lives of underprivileged children in our own way. He worked with an NGO dealing in juvenile laws, I've taught at schools and orphanages.
